Stella Damasus & Sen. Yerima tackle child marriage on Al-Jazeera

Actress Stella Damasus and Senator Ahmed Yerima went toe to toe on the Al-Jazeera show The Stream tackling the Underage Marriage issue in Nigeria. This is a must watch. Senator Yerima talks about how he met and married his 14 year old Egyptian bride...they even have a child together. Wow!

Leave the man alone. Many of us that exist in the world today owe our existence to previous child marriages down our ancestry line. The definition of a chiold is indeed not static. It moves from time to time and from place to place. Anybody wey no like am should go and marry. Enof of this Western pretentiousness towards morality. The infidel west allow John to marry Stephen. Mary can Mary can Marry Josephine; but our own different cultures which even predate their current madness must be derided. Come on. I wont marry a child but those whose cultures allow it must be allowed to exist. Remember judge not so that ye may not be judged.

You are a big shit stain on the fabric of humanity. Yes the Koran does not specify an age of marriage. The Koran does not also specify which of your orifices to put food into. Imbecile. Your eyes cannot deffrieniate a child from a woman. Sexual beast, dangerous predator. I have Muslim friends, non of them believe in these warped views. Well most of them have full control of their thinking faculties. Come to think of it ,,you have got to be mad, to have a desire to sex a child. You have got to have something fundamentally wrong with your life. You are a disgrace to your religion, not even Allah supports you. Fucktards. Now please shut the fuck up. Nobody is trying to hear the logic of peodophiles becos you are mad, you have no logic at all.

That is where you get it wrong my dear. I live in the US and I can tell you that there is a very intelligent approach to dealing with this, and if the moderators were intelligent enough they should have geared the conversation in that direction when it was brought up.

Yes in developed countries like US condoms are sold to kids, but if that kid should ever mention to the authorities or it gets found that she had sex wt someone 18 and above that person is going to jail. Their constitution provides for freedom but also protection of the Innocent young minds. The big issue here is what protection does the Nigerian constitution have for such cases. Obviously none if not this Will not be a debate. Let the Muslims marry their children at age 2 as permitted by their religion as long as there is no sexual contact with the child they will not be breaking the law. Once sex occur s then the punishment should be grave. That is what the Senate bill should have been about. Sex and not Marriage. Think Nigerians think instead of bickering.
