Wow wow wow!!! That's all I have to say, wow! You know, at first I was against thandie newton and the other chick playing the main female characters as opposed to our own actresses, but I must say bravo to Chiwetel and Thandie. This is a must see for me, come rain come shine come snowstorm come hurricane, I must watch this movie!!!

This movie has a whole big pair of shoes to fill. The book is unbeaten in my record of must-reads, I hope the film would do it justice.

The guns in the shooting scene alone proves its going to be a great movie unlike our " I shoot u now u die" type of movie

My best contemporary African writer;I've read Half of a Yellow Sun over a gazillion times and it never gets old.
I'm super excited to see this trailer, good line up of actors, not some no-talent shallow minded type.
Its definitely gonna do big numbers and that's good for chimamanda.
Its great to see someone do something else other than garbage music, this generation needs more books than it does music videos which mostly glorify nudity, mediocrity, senseless show of wealth, etc.

Chimamanda 's really inspirational. Age has nothing to do with one's knowledge of history. With purple hibiscus n half of a yellow sun, she's told stories of the past in a so marvellous way that only Chinua Achebe could rival... Can't wait to see this movie! Proudly Nigerian, cos of folks like this!!!

Nice cast...can't wait to see the movie. With Chiwetel Ejiofor in it, then I'm certain its gonna be a high budget movie and an interesting one.

She is a Christian. So don't expect much from her. The greetings will not make you holier. During Sallah festive, something might be done.

They removed her scenes cos they were irrelevant!

I can't wait to watch the movie

You have showcased ur high level of ignorance by saying Chimamanda is the best writer in Africa. Is she better than Africa's first Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka, or Ngugi wa Thiong'o or Ben Okri or even Sefi Atta? Olusola Oso. http://www.olusolaoso.blogspot.com/

Lovely book, can't wait to see the movie! They couldn't use Genevieve and co as the main character cos in d book Olanna and Kainene schooled in d UK so they must have needed d right accent.

Wowwwww! I'm definitely impressed. I can't wait to watch this movie. I'm really proud of her

not a bad idea but it's definitly not gonna capture all the message in that book; it's gonna look like Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code in a movie. That book was messed up by the movie. Likewise will half of a yellow sun if ever acted. The beauty of that book is better left the pages as Ngozi wrote them.

What! I heard the producers talk about a year ago and they talked a good game. It looks like they've more than delivered. I'm off to re-read the book in anticipation.

It might be the best shot movie from Nigeria since Mr Johnson. Hopefully, more people will come to know that we've been dealing with the same old s**t for a long time

Huh?! U need to see Chimamanda to teach u how to spell "grease".

Nice, real nice ! I look forward to it, eagerly and desperately ! But, wait a minute, that is definately not my Olanna Ozobia ! My Olanna is extremely beautiful, like a Mermaid, curvy, full and very shapely. My Olanna is an hour glass shape, and beautiful beyond words. Thandie Newton is attractive, yea, but no where close to Chimamanda's description of Olanna's beauty. No no ! And why is Odenigbo this good looking ? He is supposed to look almost ugly, stout, thick, like a wrestler. Chiwetal's looks is not Odenigbo's ! Ugwu is okay, and so is Mama (Onyeka Onwenu). But then, Odenigbo is meant to look like Mama. There ought to be a slight resemblance, even in physique. Anika Rose and Kainene, are different in looks. Kainene is flat-chested, painfully thin, tall, very dark-skinned, and hardly attractive. In the Book, Kainene is taller than Olanna, and look nothing like her. Ummmmmmmh.... The casting is ..... not so good. Aaaaaaah I see Baby. What role did Tina Mba play ? Miss Adebayo ? Where is Genevieve Nnaji ? Tina Mba looks good and pretty. I see Zack Orji and Gloria Young. Nice ! I wonder who played the following Characters ? Dr Patel, Mama Oji, Alice, Special Julius, Amala, Mohammed, Colonel Madu, Aunty Ifeka, Okeoma, Harrison, Professor Ezeka, Ikejide, Eberechi, Nnesinachi, Mrs Muokelu, Jomo, Uncle Mbaezi, Anulika, and even Phyllis. Hehehehehehehehehe ! I can't wait to see the Movie !!! It can't be like the real deal - The Book itself, but am sure it will be good. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is an awesome writer ! One of my best, maybe even my best contemporary writer ! By the way, is Richard not meant to be blonde and better looking ? My favourite characters are still - Kainene, Ugwu and Okeoma. Well done Biyi Bandele and Muktar Bakare, on the Adaptation. Hopefully, Purple Hibiscus and Americanah will follow suit. Kudos to all the Cast and Crew ! And finally, to the Igbos, the World will now know the Story of the Nigeria - Biafra War. Truly, "agha ajoka" (War is very ugly).
