Nine JAMB candidates die in horrific car accident in Aba

Nine JAMB candidates died on Friday April 26th in a fatal accident along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway when the bus they were traveling in rammed into a stationery truck after the driver of the bus lost control of his vehicle while speeding.

There were 15 passengers in the vehicle at the time of the accident, nine of them died instantly. The bus driver and conductor also lost their lives. The six remaining seriously injured passengers who survived the accident were immediately taken to the hospital. The 15 JAMB candidates had been traveling from Port Harcourt to Aba to sit for the exam which took place yesterday. May they RIP!

  47. I live in PH n we know that all these Aba drivers are the most careless set of drivers in the South south axis. They drive at breakneck speeds not minding if it rained or not. Most of them are just park boys that the drivers gave their buses to drive for a trip or two. Most of the drivers are young, rough n careless.I am sad cos some young lives had bn lost. May they RIP.

  86. Coupled with the fact that our roads are not good, Nigeria has the highest number of unruly drivers. We equate bad road behaviour to being an expert driver. May the poor young men's soul rest in peace. so sad.

    ReplyDelete
  87. Fatal Accidents will always occur in nigeria, Reasons; There are no good road worthiness test, no proper driving test before drivers licence is issued, no speed limits on our roads, no good roads. i lost a very smart and promising friend yesterday, she had an accident on her way from Law school in Kaduna. A friend of mine was telling me here in the UK that i added 20 years to my age when i left nigeria because of careless road accidents. LOL!

  88. LORD have mercy on ur children*sadface* may their gentle soul rest in perfect peace AMEN.

  91. My heart goes out to the families of these children. I dont know why these things happen. May their souls rest in God's bossom...

  92. Can't help but reflect on how needlessly Nigerian lose their lives daily. UME or whatever d exam is called nowadays can/should be taken online - d same way d students apply for & check their postings & results online.

    ReplyDelete
  93. If they can apply & check their results online, they can write d exams online if we as a nation know what we are doing eg if power will be available & not fluctuate when d students are writing d eaxams online.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I believe GRE or so is written online & Nigerian youths are participating in it.

    ReplyDelete
  95. May dere soul rest in perfect peace of God.

    ReplyDelete
  96. JAMB published d population of people who bought/applied for d exams as 1.73million. Imagine abt 1.5million youths commuting from one location to d other to write an exam on our bad roads, with our security issues, exam materials may get lost/stolen in transit or d JAMB rep conveying d materials to d venue gets kidnapped or is in an accident himself or held up in a gridlock such as is common in Lagos for example etc making room for exam leakage & therefore poor quality & compromised result.. D list of possibilities for failure or non-performance is as long as it is varied.

    ReplyDelete
  97. I think it is an irresponsible nation & govt dat will put 1.73million youths on d road in a single weekend knowing d inherent dangers.

    ReplyDelete
  98. I bet u there are several other UME tragedies that took place that dis nation just didn't get to know possibly cos of lack of media coverage or even govt censorship.

    ReplyDelete
  99. By d way, of the 1.73million dat applied for d exams, there are less than 300,000 admission spaces in all d accredited institutions of higher learning in Nigeria.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Oh God please forgive their sins and grant them enternal rest amen.

    ReplyDelete
  101. May dere soul RIPP!!!
