Statement from the CEO of Kennis Music, Kenny Ogungbe pictured above with the late singer
“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our
darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after
she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the
United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed
from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital,
Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on
arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening.
We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian
music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the
abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music
career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of
America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step-
mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathise with her family and
fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially,
the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We
shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by
the sudden loss.”
Goldie's remains has been deposited at the mortuary. I'm not blogging today...will only bring you update about her untimely demise. Let's use the whole day to mourn her. Goldie and I recently became friends after she called me for a heart to heart. She was also best friends with one of my best friends, Denrele. RIP, angel. Only God knows why this happened.

Even in Victoria Island though not at the hospital scene Doctors have to try to resuscitate the person. Oxygen and heart pumps first and not go first with checking if the person is alive heart beats veins etc to pronounce the person dead.
Take immediate resuscitating procedures first including spiritual confience optimism and attack.
Resuscitate so at least the person can stay in coma for some time and then get back gradually.
Doctors have to be emergency minded everyday even at night in their homes they could be called for emergency.
Goldie is dead; suddenly life doesnt feel sweet any longer. neither does any thing look beautiful or appear to have any value.
However experience shows that nature doesnt really appear to care; you may lose your appetite for sometime, afterwards your stomach wont care and will hit you so hard youd have to go get a drink and something. and of course for that you got to get the money. Strive!

My reaction was the silliest; I was thinking it must be a different Goldie and seriously thought so even with her picture right in my face;
I had to check another website to realize it must be Goldie!
Suddenly life loses every beauty value and apreciation: We have to learn the lessons here and move on.I hope everyone including the family come to terms with this.
Nice one up there on resuscitations, public awareness; reaction in panic situation. people have to become conscious about how to react in case someone near you slumps suddenly Dont simply tap the person to wake up calling the name as I have seen people do or scream, yelling.
Try Chest pump(to say it in simple terms) , mouth slightly opened , scream for help while doing this , sure call a doctor(so keep emergency numbers multiple is also fine) or assistance to drive to hospital... keep air flow and dont give the person water to drink if theres bleeding involved even at victims request,Salt is better. not mixed with water.AND ONLY IF PATIENT IS REQUESTING FOR SOMETHING TO PUT INTO THE MOUTH OR FEELING DEHYDRATED:

In times like this, we all should take time out to think about our lives. We would all leave this world soon and give account of our lives. The question is where would u spend your eternity.Jesus is calling us this day to comfort us in this time of grieve and give us hope of eternal life. If u have not accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and savior, this is a perfect time to do this cuz we are not sure when we would leave this world and face judgement. RIP Goldie.

.She died as a result of Deep Vein thrombosis which lead to Pulmonary embolisis#GOLDIE R.I.P....Advice to those who travel especially Long Flights/Buses/ Trains/ cars..pls don't sit through out the journey..stand up and walk around..(Esp ladies on pills(contraceptives),sick people or dose on medication,infact anybody..it is imp u visit your doctors for check ups,before any long distant journey #Pulmonary Embolism is the major cause of sudden death..especially people who have travelled long flights(over 6hrs ..or undergone long surgery procedure...it presents as Headaches, restlessness and then The person collapses...SUDDEN DEATH)..pls we can be more careful with our lives if we only go for checkups ...u can google Pulmonary embolism(Deep vein thrombosis ..for better knowledge.....Rekia..........

Please can't some of you just take a day off from judging and finding fault? Ah ah! I don't even follow Goldie's music but I am also sad for the loss so I understand how Linda feels. Maybe with time Linda will take such tragic events into consideration but there is always a first time to start a trend. Pls respect her choices and stop hunting for an opportunity to condemn. Ugh!
I was sad last night that things hadn't been going very well for me till I heard she died and I thought to myself, to what end? Is this how frail life is? I bet, Goldie had a thousand things I probably craved in terms of material things but I halted to reflect, all of the nice clothes she probably bought from the Michaels korrs and the likes, the nice house she lived and the Grammys she had the grace to attend............and much more. These things are of no essence so this day, I choose to love God more, accept the low times and enjoy the presence of God. He told us earlier to seek his kingdom and his righteousness. dear ones, seek the face of God while you can still find him.

Wen I heard of d way she died,I came to a conclusion. She dead of BLOOD Clotting in her vein,called DVT. It happens wen Ɣ☺u sit down in a one place for a long time. Dat will send a message to to any part of the body such as the brain, lungs or heart. Where ever they hit, they'll block off oxygen from getting through.. It happen to a family friend of mine,who travelled non stop. Rest In Peace gal...
